In recent days, we have seen an outbreak of sexual scandals of those in positions of power. Anthony Weiner sent lewd pictures of himself to a woman following his twitter feed. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s marital infidelity came to the surface. Dominique Strauss-Kahn was arrested for sexual assault on a housekeeper at a hotel in Manhattan. This is nothing new; such scandals hit the news all the time. Remember Mark Sanford? Tiger Woods? Bill Clinton?
I’m not surprised by these scandals. They are simply a reflection of the sinful heart of men. They will occur again. When they do, let us all be reminded of the sin that is deep within all of us. “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one” (Romans 3:10-12). Here’s my question: Who’s next to remind us of our sin?
Praise the Lord for Jesus, who through our faith has “forgiven us all our trespasses” (Colossians 2:13).
