While in California at my in-law’s home, my 11 year-old daughter and 4 year-old son were searching through a box of pool toys kept outside. At one point, my daughter noticed a black spider on the side of the box. She went over to grandma and asked, “Is that a black widow spider?” Sure enough, it was. (Such a spider had sent grandpa to the hospital a few years earlier). So, grandma came to the rescue and killed the spider. God protected them.
It reminded me that danger is everywhere. You can try two things to protect yourself (or your children). Either you can attempt to keep yourself away from everything dangerous (which is impossible). Or, you can put your trust in the Lord to protect you at all times.
“The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul” (Psalm 121:7).
