Winter Solstice

December 21st is one of the most delightful days for me all year long. It’s not because of the day itself, which is often cold and miserable. I enjoy the day because of what lies ahead. December 21st is the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year.  Days will be getting longer every day for six months. There will be more sun tomorrow than today. There will be more sun the day after tomorrow than there will be tomorrow.  This will be true for the next six months.  I like this day.

It reminds me of how I like looking forward to what lies ahead.  My favorite day of vacation is the first day, because I can look forward to the blessings of what lies ahead.  I look forward to my first day in heaven!
