Humpty Dumpty

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the king’s horses and all the king’s men
Couldn’t put Humpty together again.

This is a very common nursery rhyme that almost every American child has heard. It speaks of a problem so great, that even the greatest of men are unable to solve it.

This is our predicament as lost sinners. We have fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23). There is nothing that the greatest among us can do. We need divine intervention. The good news is that God has intervened! He has sent His Son to restore us to life! “But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ” (Ephesians 2:4-5).
